145 .Wednesday: Every Baptized Catholic Is Set Apart to Hear the Voice of Christ
Every Baptized Catholic Is Set Apart to Hear the Voice of Christ
In Acts of the Apostles 13:2, while they were worshiping and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke: “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul…”
This reveals an important truth: God calls, guides, and sends His people. The Christian life is not passive. It is a life of listening, responding, and following.
In Gospel of John 12:48, Christ warns that whoever rejects His words will be judged by the very word He has spoken. His voice is not optional. It is life, truth, and judgment.
Every baptized Catholic is set apart to hear the voice of Christ. Baptism marks the soul for God. It is an invitation to live under His guidance rather than under confusion, impulse, fear, or worldly noise.
Three Secrets to Listen to Christ’s Voice, Receive It, and Preserve It
One: Attend the ChristusWay21 online training program to grow in Christian wisdom and learn how to recognize, receive, and follow the voice of Christ in daily life.
Two: Offer your prayers at Mass. Immediately after Mass, offer the graces and fruits of the Mass for the Pope’s intentions, helping preserve what was received before distractions, impulses, or worldly noise weaken it.
Three: Pray three or four daily Rosaries to remain attentive to Christ’s voice throughout the day. Whenever grace begins to move the soul, temptations and impulses often arise to steal that focus. The Rosary helps guard the heart, steady the mind, and keep the soul aligned with Christ.
What Happens If One Does Not Listen?
When the voice of Christ is ignored, other voices grow louder.
- Anxiety replaces peace
- Impulse replaces wisdom
- Pride resists correction
- Pleasure disguises emptiness
- Confusion feels normal
- Sin hardens into habit
- The soul drifts without noticing
A person may remain outwardly active yet inwardly distant from God. The danger is gradual blindness: hearing many voices and no longer recognizing the Shepherd.
ChristusWay is valuable because many people do not reject Christ directly—they simply cannot hear Him clearly through the noise.
ChristusWay helps train the inner life by uncovering causes of:
- emptiness
- painful patterns
- blame
- distrust
- restlessness
- anxiety
- confusion
It helps a person ask:
- Is this thought leading me toward Christ or away?
- Is this desire truth or illusion?
- Is this reaction from wound or wisdom?
- Is this voice grace or fear?
Through reflection, awareness, disciplined habits, and spiritual clarity, the soul becomes more able to hear Christ again.
